Cosy Couch

Hi I'm Triss I live with my partner and 2 children. We are all passionate dog lovers and get so much joy for caring and looking after dogs in our cosy cottage. Ever since I was a child I have always loved looking after dogs and have been passionate about animal welfare. The whole family has also enjoyed walking dogs for rescue charities. It's a childhood dream come true running Cosy Couch and being able to share every day with our furry friends. We know being away from home is very stressful for dogs so we wanted to be able to offer a cosy home environment where dogs can come and stay and live as part of our family. We love seeing how this really minimises stress and anxiety. We enjoy making our furry guests as happy and comfortable as possible during their stay with us. It's so rewarding seeing how quickly they settle into their new environment. The dogs will live inside our cosy cottage set on a lovely rural 0.7 acres of land. We are located 10 minutes drive outside Castlebar, Co Mayo. Our guests can enjoy cuddles on the sofa by the fire, snoozes in cosy warm anti anxiety beds wrapped up in lovely warm blankets, have fun playing games and walking around our land. Outside we have a large courtyard which is secured by 6 ft fencing with anti-climb roll bars on top. Here they can enjoy playing off the lead by themselves or with other dogs. The other parts of our land are grass with lots of wildlife areas and a mini woodland area where dogs enjoy sniffing all the smells of nature. Dogs are exercised every couple of hours and on dry warm sunny days can enjoy lying soaking up the sun on our outdoor beds. We understand how every dog is unique and therefore we ensure all dogs attending come for a meet and greet session so we can make a full assessment of every dog's individual needs and plan their care accordingly. This also gives our guests an opportunity to meet us and familiarise themselves with their environment before their stay. We ask that all dogs have the following ..... Neutered Microchipped In date Dog Licence Up to date Vaccinations and Kennel Cough. In order to keep all dogs safe we ask that all dogs wait a minimum of 3 weeks post any vaccinations primary or booster before staying at Cosy Couch. We ask that your dogs are dropped off between 2pm and 4pm and collected between 10am and 12.00. If this is not possible then please add on a day rate. I am Canine First Aid and CPR registered.
