Sighthound Sanctuary

Hello I'm Hayley 👋 I'm a young professional working from home and together with my partner Mark we have a 9-year old greyhound Sadie 🥰 We love dogs and have a soft spot for sighthounds and their quirky mannerisms. After minding a few different dogs on occasion we have decided to join Pawshake and open our home to more four-legged visitors. We love taking dogs to the beach, the park or a nice stroll around the neighborhood.

We live in a lovely residential area with a fully fenced backyard. Any overnight visitors are able to sleep in our sitting room or if they prefer to be near human company, they can sleep on the floor in our bedroom. 

We have previously minded multiple dogs at one time and are happy to share our couch 😂 For boarding and daycare, we plan to be home most of the time so the dogs will not be left alone for more than 2 hours. Should there be any changes to that, you will be notified. 

***Right now we will see only take bookings for sighthounds for boarding/day care (greyhounds, lurchers, whippets, deerhounds, etc) due to our own dog's mannerisms but that may change in the future.*** 

As we know sighthounds can have high prey drives, we don't currently allow any of our doggy guests off lead when out and about. 

We will only take dogs that are non-reactive towards other dogs and people or do not have behavioral issues. Please let us know if you require your sighthound to be muzzled when walking/in public and we're happy to abide. 

For dog boarding/day care, we ask that dogs be neutered, vaccinated and chipped. Any medication, food, poo bags and bed etc should be provided. We can administer medication orally. We will only take bookings for up to 2 dogs at a time. We will also only be taking bookings for dogs that are house trained. If your dog is crate-trained, you will need to provide the crate as we don't have one.
