About Edel
I've been a nurse for 20 odd yrs and am looking to transition to the animal world.
I'd a cat growing up & have a real soft spot for them, unfortunately my dog isn't a fan (yet). Funnily I was scared of dogs growing up due to a minor incident. Since spending time with friends dogs & minding them, I've grown a real affinity to them. I'd love to foster and adopt more in the future.
I volunteer at a fantastic animal rescue where I'm learning a great deal. I've a little rescue jack russell terrier called Kobe, who has some fear reactivity. Subsequently I've had to learn alot about dog body language and management of reactivity. My aim is to use positive reinforcement with dogs and avoid punishment. I can pick up, drop off your dog or walk them in your area if that suits better. If you're working on certain training, I can work on it too- if suitable for the walk.
I'm due to finish a canine first aid course shortly, which includes CPR. Following this, I'm hoping to complete a dog handling course. I also want to broaden my knowledge to all animals and their welfare. I'm particularly interested in animal assisted therapy.
**Kobe would be elsewhere while I care for your dog.**
