About Emma
🐶 Experienced & Trusted Dog Boarding in a Home Environment - Premium Service 🐶
Hi, I’m Emma, a passionate and experienced dog sitter offering high-quality, home-based boarding where your dog is treated like family. I work part-time remotely from home so your dog will have constant care, attention and company throughout the day and night. I manage my own schedule so my working hours (approximately 3-4 hours per day) are completely flexible. You can read more about my professional background and qualifications towards the end of this document.
⭐️Why Choose Me?⭐️
• A true home environment – No kennels or cages. Your dog will sleep indoors and have full freedom to roam my kitchen and secure, fully fenced garden. There are NO children in my home.
• Safe & comfortable stay – I welcome owners for meet-and-greet visits so you can see where your dog will be staying.
• Prime location for walks – I live 5 minutes from the sea for beach walks, 7 minutes from Blackrock Park, and in an estate with a large park and friendly resident dogs. Your dog will get a 1/1.5 hour morning walk, 20 minute lunchtime walk OR 20 minute garden play and a 1/1.5 hour evening walk.
• Privacy and space - I take no more than 3 boarding dogs at a time unless the owner has a preference for a solo boarding experience (in the case of more anxious or reactive dogs).
• All dogs sleep in separate rooms in the house during their stay and eat meals in separate areas for safety. When unsupervised they are also separated or are given garden access in rotation. They will be supervised for the vast majority of the day as I work part-time remote/online from home (4h p/d).
• I will provide you with pictures and text updates about your dog every day / second day. You **do not** have to respond nor should you feel any pressure to do so. Feel free to mute my notifications on WhatsApp or Gudog while your dog is on their holidays with me. The updates serve to reassure owners and also keep track of the services I am providing.
✨Personalised care for all dogs – I have experience with:
- Puppies
- Adult dogs / Senior dogs
- Pregnant dogs
- Special needs dogs
✨Extra services I provide:
• Plenty of dog toys
• Brushing and baths for matted or messy dogs who have a calling to roll in fox poo like my lab Milly…
• Improving your dogs recall
• Medication administration if needed
• Emergency-ready – I live right beside UCD Veterinary Hospital for immediate and 24 hour access to professional care if required.
• Fully insured – Covered by Gudog and VHI.
***Meet and greets can be arranged upon your request (€7)*** They are optional***
⭐️About My Own Dog & Special Arrangements:⭐️
I have a calm, sedentary and friendly Labrador named Milly who sleeps separately from the boarded dogs. If your dog requires solo boarding, I can arrange for Milly to stay at my brother’s house nearby (for a small extra fee). Milly is not overly playful nor hyper. She has a calm and friendly temperament around all dogs. She almost enhances my services and is like a co-sitter.
⭐️Pick-Up & Drop-Off Service:⭐️
I offer free pick-up and drop-off for your dog’s first stay if you live within 5km from my home.
⭐️Pricing & Value €€€:⭐️
My prices reflect the high level of care, home comforts, and secure environment I provide.
Your dog will live inside my home, receive personalized attention, and enjoy a safe and enriching stay. However, I understand that times are tough and am open to negotiating prices based on circumstances or urgency.

Worms and fleas are serious and can particularly harm puppies and senior dogs. All recent medical incidents must be disclosed.
- Short and honest description of dog’s personality type and comfortability around other dogs, adults and children, and the postman! Any history of aggressive/reactive behaviour MUST be disclosed. ‼️
❎❌Exclusion Criteria: Dogs I do not take/board❌❎
- Restricted breeds, UK banned breeds or dogs that are not permitted to enter dog parks. While I have vast experience working with dogs I do not have experience caring for or managing restricted breeds. I do not board dogs in kennels and my service handles a small number of dogs. I am the solo dog care provider; thus, more specialised services are needed for restricted breeds or those with a history of aggression. so during garden time they sometimes have exposure to each other unless requested otherwise. Examples of dogs I do not board: Cane Corso, Pitbull, Doggo Argentino, Akita, staffies etc.
- Dogs that have any history of aggressive (biting/attacking/highly reactive) behaviour.
- Dogs that are antisocial or reactive around other dogs OR people.
- Dogs with severe separation anxiety.
- Dogs that bark excessively/constantly/ extremely frequently throughout the day and night. Barking is a completely normal behaviour and intermittent barking is how all dogs communicate. This is totally acceptable and I will never have an issue with a dog that engaged in barking. I have vast experience with dogs and know how to support and manage them when they are showing signs of anxiety and bark as a result. My own dogs bark at the post man, birds, cats, foxes lorries, and at each other during play. I do not expect a ‘solent dog’. My exclusion criteria references barking that is *disruptive* and *constant*. Some breeds, pairs of dogs or dogs with moderate to severe separation anxiety can *sometimes* be prone to heavy barking. I live in an estate in an attached property. I have to be conscious and considerate of my neighbours and noise pollution.
- Dogs that can’t be left alone during the night. Dogs that are used to sleeping in their owners bed can often become distressed when sleeping separately in my sitting room or kitchen area. This can lead to excessive barking during the night.
- Dogs that can’t spend short periods of time alone during the day, i.e, dogs that bark non-stop in response to same. I work part-time and remote from home; however, for 4 hours per day (2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon I am at my laptop in a separate office room (full window view of garden). During my working hours the dogs in my care are free to roam my kitchen area, hallway, dining room and have full access to my medium sized fully fenced garden. Lots of toys, water and space is provided. They are also checked on during my few online working hours. I can’t board dogs that bark excessively or suffer from severe separation anxiety in response to being left for short periods of time.
Thank you for your understanding the above. I love all dogs and all dog breeds however your dog deserves the best, care love and support possible. Restricted breeds, reactive or aggressive dogs require specialised boarding services not a small home-based service like mine.
⭐️A little bit more about me / my background⭐️
- I’ve been surrounded by dogs my whole life, growing up in a home full of Labradors, my love for them has only grown stronger over time. Dog boarding isn’t just a service I offer—it’s something I’m truly passionate about. I know how important it is to leave your dog in a place where they’ll feel safe, loved, and happy, and I strive to make every stay a home-away-from-home experience. Whether they’re snoozing in the kitchen, chasing toys in the garden, or joining me for a beach walk, your dog will be treated like one of my own! I would be honoured to board, doggy day care or walk your dog!
- My background is in Psychology and I hold a BSc and MSc in Psychology and Applied Psychology. I have worked with people of all ages from 2-92 with and without mental health difficulties, physical and intellectual disabilities and the neurodivergent community. One of my research areas of interest focuses on the impact pets can have on our mental and physical health. I believe that my background in Psychology reflects my deep compassion and empathy—not just for people, but for animals too. While I’ve spent years supporting human mental health, I choose to balance this work with part-time dog boarding because animals have always been a passion of mine. Being active, outdoors, and surrounded by dogs also supports my own wellbeing. I believe this combination of professional experience and genuine love for animals helps me provide thoughtful, attentive care to every dog I look after.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from you and your pup!
