About Ian
Hi! I’m a young professional who has recently changed careers from a corporate finance specialist to an aspiring fashion designer. I have a dog named Jazz who is a rescue and my absolute favourite. I have taken care of many dogs for friends and family over the years as we joke about all of them being my godchildren! Some are young and some are old. Some are big, some are small. Some are restricted breeds and some are rescues. I’m delighted to get to know any kind of dog!
Generally while dog sitting I would sit or play with the dog for 30 minutes or so (especially at the beginning) to make sure they are comfortable. I’d then bring them for a walk which would vary in duration depending on the dog (age, wellness etc). From then it’s probably cuddles… most likely as much as they will allow me before getting bored of me and go about their business.
I have dog sat for friends and family for years. Generally during the day but have on occasion looked after them over night or for a duration of a weekend. From labradors to westies, mixed breeds to bulldogs, I’ve pretty much looked after most types of dogs at one point or another (except a Great Dane which would be so cool if I got to look after one at some point). Most dogs I have looked after are generally healthy. Apart from oral medication or being careful of particular diets and being mindful of age etc, I have not taken care of ill dogs (except for my own westie back in the day who unfortunately had diabetes in his later life).
Dog sitting will not be permitted at my apartment as unfortunately they are not allowed on the premises. I am more than happy to do dog walking (there are lovely beaches and parks only 5 minutes from me by car). I can also dog sit at your premises once everyone is comfortable with me doing so. I can also do drop-ins for feeding etc if needed.
