English Springer Spaniel

Molly was recently diagnosed in November 2023 with hip dysplasia in both hind legs.  She has never experienced any lameness or gait issues however, just signs of pain after periods of prolonged heavy exercise.  You honestly wouldn't know she had anything wrong with her legs normally! We are currently managing the dysplasia with medication and controlled exercise. The only physical restriction she has is no prolonged periods of running or jumping.  Otherwise, lead walks are perfectly fine and outdoor play in the garden isn't an issue either.  She is receiving monthly arthritis injections at the vets and has pain meds that she can take at home if needed in the event she seems to be in any additional pain. 

We generally do one big walk a day, but if that's not possible, a few shorter walks. But it doesn't always have to be walks for exercise... Molly will play fetch with the tennis ball all day, every day, if she had it her way!
