Bonnie

Border Collie

Bonnie is our little survivor of a guard dog. Her litter was diagnosed with a virus when she was just a puppy and she was the only one left behind, and after I met her I knew that she was going to be my companion for life. Because she lost her brothers and sisters when she was very small, she was very shy around any new dogs and only considered our family as her pack. When she was just over a year old she was attacked by a much larger dog in a park, and this cemented the sad thought in her head that she just couldn't trust other dogs. She is very anxious and nervous around anyone outside of our family as well as other dogs, and her automatic reaction is to go into defence mode if any sign of a threat appears, and sometimes she can get grumpy with us when she's in a bad mood, but the affection she gives us is unlike any other. She is also epileptic, which is very tough on her and my family. But she is our Bonnie, she loves the beach, joining us on cycles, playing in huge parks and chasing after swallows, and we wouldn't want her any other way because we love her, teeth and all!
