Celine

Celine is a Jackshund (Daschund X Jack Russel Terrier mix). Her leg joints fused together and her spine is curved so her walking is impaired. She kind of springs along like a seal or a squirrel. As a result Celine is just 17 cm high. On the advice of my vet I must keep her from jumping up and down heights to prevent too much pressure on her joints. Even heights of 20cm. Like any Jack Russel she dislikes the lead. However we are continually working on that. She loves to be off lead in a large green area or beach. She is weak at recall, as she find its hard to focus. However she also can not run too fast with her little legs so you can catch up with her in a few strides. She can't walk further than 1 km without needing to be carried for a while so she can have a break. So no big walks are necessary. Celine does love to be taken to a green area where she can sniff around. She is quite obsessive with sniffing. This is the daschund in her. If you try to move her on with the lead she may belly flop and refuse to move. So you end up will end up carrying her again. She likes almost everyone she meets. She will be very enthusiastic when meeting other dogs. She loves to play with other dogs and people. When it comes to toddlers/ small children (under 10). Celine can get a little overwhelmed by the noise and little hands diving into her space. So she will retreat. She might even growl. So I try to keep her separate from little children as much as possible just in case. I want to avoid an incident. Céline will spent 95% of her day snoozing in awkward positions. She likes to watch the world go by from the sofa. Especially if she has a view out the window. She does not bark at passer-bys (people or canine). She will however bark like crazy if she sees a cat. She will steal slippers, tear up paper, and she loves playing tug of war. Lastly, Celine is not a great eater of what's in her dinner bowl. She will eat any treats she can get. I will give you some dry and wet food to combine.
