Benten is food motivated, very aware of his surroundings, curious and can be reactive while adjusting.
He knows basic commands such as sit, down, leave it, wait. He is used to being the only dog and spoiled. He does low growl when he plays tug which is perfectly normal.
He doesn’t like being picked up. He loves walks and mental exercise especially sniffing hidden treats! He needs mental and physical exercise to be well rested. He loves to impress, and very easily trained. 😊
His interaction with children has been positive but very brief. Because of his curious nature, cats may be hesitant to engage with him 😆
During the day he is the most energetic pup but after 6pm, he loves cuddling up to you and watching TV.

Benten has no allergies. He eats at 8am and 6pm every day with small treats in between. We tend to give treats when he is calm to encourage this behaviour and help him become less reactive.

Walking instructions
Benten is pulling at the start of the walk due to excitement but then follows along after. Happy to sniff a lot of things during his walks. He loves to say hi to other dogs and jump on people, so you will need to be mindful especially with kids.

At home with no supervision
He can stay alone at home for up to 8 hours, but we only do that when ABSOLUTELY necessary and he needs to be home alone and not with other dogs as we’ve never left him home alone with another dog before except Tina, his sister.
Behaviour
He is fully toilet trained, knows basic commands, always patiently waiting for his food until you say ‘yes’. He is a very active dog during the day but really calms down after dinner.
He will happily sleep in his crate at night or on a living room sofa.
