Loki
Border Collie

3 Years, 1 Months
Male
Medium
Balbriggan
Loki is our gorgeous boy. He is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. He is a love bug that is very gentle and friendly with everyone. Active outside, loves to run, explore, but very calm and polite in the house. At home we say he is a lazy collie, but outside on walks he can show he is a real collie, full of energy and mischief. He is very sensitive though, and likes calm places, where he can stay near a person he trusts. If we are home, he'll stay near us all the time, just chilling on his bed by my desk, playing with a toy, and every so often asking for play and cuddles.

Walking instructions
I walk Loki twice a day for around 2h. Relaxed walks giving him loads of opportunity to explore and sniff. He should be fine with a couple of shorter walks, but I like long walks too. Can also go to a safe fenced area to throw the frisbee or play fetch. I also train basic obedience with him during the walks. Do not leave him off leash in an open area, he can run to say hi to other dogs that might not be friendly and chase cats through streets. I don't trust him off leash in any area that he could potentially run over to a street, because if he spots a cat he'll run after it. He'll also run over to say hello to dogs, so this can be dangerous and if it's not an off leash area with just friendly dogs I prefer him on a long lead.

Indoor care instructions

Activity level:
Moderate
At home with no supervision
He is an indoor dog. Stays home all day besides when I bring him for walks in the morning before I start working and after we finish in the evenings. Most days he also gets an afternoon walk. We work from home, so we give him toilet breaks in the garden. He is good alone when we have to go out. I don't trust him alone near flipflops and small itens on a hight that he could potentially grab.

Behaviour

Toilet trained. Very obedient, polite and calm. He likes attention, to play with toys and his naps near us. He'll not ask to go to toilet, so we have to bring him out regularly otherwise he'll just hold for hours on.
